My Restaurant Rules 

How can we promote healthier and more sustainable eating?

Obesity rates in Australia are rising and people are becoming more mindful of where their food comes from.

 

Students must use what they learn in food technology to create a healthy, sustainability-conscious restaurant.

 

This requires students to develop a menu, create the dishes from that menu, and produce a marketing campaign to promote the restaurant to the public  

 

Key tasks

  • Create healthy eating campaign. Students will explore the importance of eating nutritious and healthy food and what foods we should be eating. They will then create a campaign to convince people to eat healthily and sustainably

 

  • Building a menu. Students must create a menu for their new health and sustainability-focused restaurant. To do this, they must create healthy recipes, create a food budget, and prepare their dishes
